Karina is the founder of Elevating La Cultura Podcast

She is a Mexican-American living in Chicago, who has been on a journey to reverse her assimilation to western culture and dive in deeper into her roots. She hopes that by elevating conversations with other Latinas, their stories can develop a deeper understanding of their experiences, and empower others with their own life choices.

She is also a speaker educating about Mexican culture, calling out stereotypes, and helping people reclaim their cultural legacies. Read more about her signature keynote.

I believe the more we share our stories, the more we can become connected, and elevate la cultura for the generations to follow.
— Karina Mora - Episode 2

It all starts with a conversation.

A conversation builds relationships. It deepens understanding. It helps develop empathy. Conversations form connections that not only help us grow, but empower others to step into their own purpose.

Karina & Veronica host monthly brunches

Karina and Veronica met years ago when they both worked in the wedding industry. Both share experiences of assimilation and “playing a certain part” in order to succeed in the events industry. After severe burnout, and realizing that they were missing a core part of themselves by hiding their Latinidad, they decided to create a space where Latinas can feel welcomed to come as they are and find community, encouragement, and support.

Join us for next month’s brunch hangout!

If we want to break the pattern we need to start with ourselves. My job as a boudoir photographer is to help the everyday woman...know that anybody can start that journey of loving themselves. It just takes a little courage.
